Hot Off the Press: Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton’s Wedding

Here at Principles in Action, a San Antonio-based wedding planner, we are totally smitten with the recent wedding of two popular country musicians–Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. As you can imagine, in Texas we are familiar with all things country, but Blake and Miranda put together a fun, rock-n-roll wonderland theme that was full of touches they incorporated to make it their own. A little bit hillbilly, a little bit rockstar, their big day was old-fashioned, laid back and most of all, fun! During the reception, Blake even performed a song called “Let’s Grow Old Together” that he wrote special for their wedding day. These two make our hearts go pitter-patter with the obvious romance between them.

We love that Miranda wore two dresses–for her ceremony she wore her mother’s vintage Gunne Sax gown and for her reception she wore the Vineyard by Priscilla of Boston “Drew” dress. Of course, she was not without her cowgirl boots!

This brooch bouquet is such a magical moment in the wedding, with tons of vintage charm and glamour.

We think the mix and match vintage look of the sweet bridesmaids is done masterfully and especially adore the halter-style tops.

This is one of the coolest boutonnieres we’ve seen in a long time, but we don’t expect anything less from the always-stylish Blake! (Can you tell we love him?)

Their ceremony location, Kendall Creek at Don Strange Ranch, was truly magical and even allowed the couple to include their beloved four-legged dog friends! Miranda walked down the aisle to her bridesmaid singing “Makin’ Plans,” a song Miranda wrote for Blake in 2009. This is us swooning! When the new Mr. and Mrs. Shelton walked back up the aisle, “Happy Trails” blared on the speakers, one of the couple’s favorite tunes by the legendary Roy Rogers.

We love the mix of rockabilly with glamour and think this sitting area makes for a great lounge, perfect for guests to relax and take in the atmosphere.

This amazing food set-up has our stomachs growling and makes us wish we were there to sneak a bite of the buttery deliciousness! How cool is this boat for displaying the desserts? Such a fabulous, original idea perfect for any Texas wedding!

Who knew beer cozies and napkin rings could be so cute!? “To have and to hold, To keep your beer cold,” definitely sums up the witty sense of humor the couple is known for.

We wish the couple the best of luck and thank them for inspiring us with every aspect of their gorgeous wedding!! What is your favorite detail from the couple’s unique wedding day?
